Baron Hill must love taxing you and me, after all, he has voted against just about every proposal to repeal one tax from another. From the original Bush tax cuts, to making them permanent, to the marriage plenty he has voted no. Our taxes are going up on January 1, in the middle of this bad economy, no thanks to him. So when you see less money in your paycheck after January 1, if you have a paycheck, you can thank good ole Baron.
If you ask him why he opposes cutting taxes he will tell you that only the rich get tax cuts. But in fact the Bush tax cuts gave every bracket a cut with the bottom bracket getting the largest, at 5% while the top bracket got a 3% cut. So Baron Hill is lying when he says that. When you challenge that he will fall back on tax cuts create deficits. That is true, but what Baron won’t tell you is that every time taxes have been cut, economic growth has occurred, which increases the tax revenues and those deficits are wiped out. But part time deficit hawk Baron had no problem with voting for massive spending that leads to massive deficits that won’t go away on their own.
In this time of economic trouble, the last thing that we need is higher taxes taking more of our money. But by voting no on making the Bush tax cuts permanent Baron Hill is raising our taxes on January 1. That means less money for you and me to spend and/or invest as we see fit, which means less economic activity, and more trouble for an already bad economy.
I guess Baron knows how to use our money better than we do. That is the only reasonable conclusion when you see that he votes no again and again on efforts to cut or repeal taxes. He doesn’t appear to be too worried about your taxes going up. Instead he is out there trying to scare seniors that their Social Security will vanish if he is not reelected.
Too bad for Baron we can see what he really stands for now. We need a Congressman that will represent us, not himself of his leftist friends. Let’s send Baron Hill to the unemployment line on November 2.
